It’s a pretty universal truth (not as universal as the one regarding single men with large fortunes, but I digress.) that the new year represents new beginnings to many people. A time to let go of the old and embrace the new, or to finally make those changes that you’ve known you needed to make for a while but just keep putting off. This may not seem like it relates to family portraits, but I promise there’s a point here…
In keeping with this tradition, I’m so excited to announce that I am revamping my photography business this year and will now be specializing in Family Lifestyle Photography (In addition to Senior Portraits!) Lifestyle Photography is a unique form of professional photography that places its emphasis on capturing real life moments and documenting the true essence of your family, instead of just the typical, posed family portraits. I have always loved photographing families, but always felt like something was missing from the experience. I’ve finally found what was missing, and I’m so excited to share more about this in the coming weeks!
I started out the year by joining the Neumeyer family at their beautiful home for breakfast and family time. Bethany is the blogging and comedic genius behind I Was Promised More Naps, and I knew she would be able to relate to my mission of capturing real life moments and telling real family stories. I was so thrilled to be able to photograph a little bit of her family’s every day life in their family portraits! Lucas and Calista have such a special brother/sister bond, and I so loved being able to capture that, along with capturing the love that this family has for each other. I think it really shows through in these photos! <3
